Yows
Here in Assynt crofters call a breeding female sheep a "yow" it means the same as ewe, I was born in the South of England but I've lived in Assynt more of my life than I have in England. So I often interchange between Scottish and English words for things, depending who I am around. On my Croft I keep mostly Hill Type North Country Cheviots however I do have a couple of Shetlands and this year I've got two pets who are Scotch Mule x Texels and Suffolk.
